Character Interview: Archimedes
Welcome Archie From Whiskers and Wishes: Cozy Tales of Larune. Let's get to know you.
Character Interview: Archie From Whiskers and Wishes: Cozy Tales of Larune by Elayne Griffith.
For five centuries a powerful djinn has granted wishes, but never lasting happiness.
Kamod once believed his power would be used for good, but the binding magic requires him to carry out the selfish and foolish desires of others. However, there is an ancient legend that claims a truly content person could release him from his mystical servitude. Accompanied by his loyal, furry companions, he embarks on a nomadic quest across the rustic Blisswile Isles to fulfill his own wish. Dreaming of one day attending the Mind Mastery Institute, he longs to help people find well-being without the use of magic. Unfortunately, finding happiness proves to be more mythical than a flying turtle.
Sometimes, when one feels most powerless, wishes come true in unexpected ways.
Let's get to know Archie - welcome to this interview.
Can you start by telling me a little bit about yourself?
I’m a Hardinian Furfloof, a rare, rather gorgeous breed, if I say so myself. But also one of the most loving and sweetest. I contain some magic and usually bond with other magical creatures like djinns, elves, or witches.
What are you like first thing in the morning?
Hungry! But after that I prefer some alone time to contemplate weighty matters, or perhaps enjoy pets from my friend, the djinn.
What’s your proudest moment?
I’d be giving away too much if I revealed that, but my second proudest would be when I caught my first mouse when I was only three weeks old. Granted, it wasn’t a real mouse, but it’s the form and grace that matters.
How do you wish others saw you?
As a thinking, feeling creature just like them. I can’t tell you how many boorish, patronizing conversations I’ve been subjected to—“Who’s a pwetty kitty?”—or, worse, those who treat me as if I were some mindless, furry toy. Like that mouse! Luckily, my djinn is very respectful & understanding. I do my best to return the kindness he shows me.
Anything you'd like to say to your author?
I know you miss the Archie from your world terribly, but he lives on in me in the world of Larune. *Purrrrr—head bump*
Let’s end on an easier question, what’s your favorite drink?
Milk! Yakaroo preferably but any will suffice.
I’m going to leave this on that cute note. Make sure you check out Whiskers and Wishes: Cozy Tales of Larune!
