Some weeks are epic and others not so much. Still, overall I’d say last week went okay. I had a medical procedure on Wednesday and it threw me off my game. Like curled up on the couch under covers taking pain medication type of detour. Yet, here I am back in action and starting to feel like myself again. Recovery is a strange animal and I’m going to be focusing on being graceful with myself over the next couple of weeks.
Yet, I need to remind myself of that. Grace.
I’ve finally wrote some more of my spin-off series and I love where it is going.
Raw Except:
”Susan pulled it back into a ponytail and glanced into the mirror on the back of the door. The blue streak was gone and for a moment a different person stood in front of the mirror. Armor covered her chest and shadows rose behind her, when she blinked it vanished. Instead, she looked like Sabriella.
“It is what it is,” she muttered to herself. “I am Sabriella, and Susan.”
I feel like I’m stepping into Susan’s head and spending time there which is the best place to write from. It feels good to be writing again and I’m excited to see what adventures Susan takes me on this time. I already have a feeling it's going to be out of this world.
Oh, I almost forgot a big writing thing. I did the cover reveal of Courage of the Traveler over on Instagram. Courage will be coming out in October, and I’m so excited for this story to get out into the world.
Outside of writing, my garden is bringing me so much joy. Tomatoes are getting picked every couple of days and for lunch, I made a quick fresh sauce of them. It was warm, filling, and tasted so alive. I love good simple food.

The cat turned and looked at me. "Yes, magic. This is a magical shop, is it not?" His green eyes glowed and stood out against his black fur. From Pages to Portals is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
