Admin Update: I've found a few broken links that have been fixed to go to the correct books. I'm going through the list now to make sure that all the authors have in fact set their books to free.
Some books aren't free. Some books are only free on Amazon and are not free on other stores. Some books don't have links. Some books click through to author websites and have confusing stores on their sites. I just emailed one author to ask how to get the book since their store didn't say. But over all was a good mix. I will share it in my newsletter but I will advise my subscribers about this. I didn't click every book but I clicked through 50% of them and this was my finding. I tagged an author I follow on Facebook to let them know they're book isn't linked (Breaker: a fantasy Western).
Thank you and thanks to the authors who gave their books for free. I'm on a limited income so I love events like this.
I'm in England and have to use Amazon.co.uk. Some of the books have geo-targeted links but most don't. It's a complete PITA to have to edit URLs, especially on a mobile phone, when you have to scroll through loads of Amazon search and keyword bumpf tagged on the end of the basic book link.
Perhaps next time there could be more geo-targeting and less crap in the un-targeted URLs?
In events like this I open a bunch of links as new grouped tabs then buy. Unfortunately, some of the links were broken and it was impossible to search the event to relocate the title because there was no text, only what appear to be images as the listings.
Again, thank you and I look forward to the next event.
I do notice some authors were unable to turn on the free book option. :( That's too bad, but I did click through the majority of them and most of them were able to get the book provided free.
Hi Toni. Love what you're doing here! Found you as apparently our substacks have 11% reader overlap! Please may I ask, how do I submit a book to your monthly giveaways? Thanks!
So many of these ARE NOT FREE - almost found myself with a $5 charge so it was lucky I checked. Most annoying are the ones on the author's actual websites that aren't free - that's just lazy. I hated clicking multiple times just to get to a store. This was the first time I had heard of this and I won't be back again. I got one book and that was all as I was tired of the $$ and links that were broken

a voice in between us also not free I just discovered I was charged almost $6. 😬 kind of a bummer...
Hesper isn't free, neither is bridge of eternity, I accidentally just paid $0.99 for it. 😅 no big deal but definitely worth noting!

A few are also linked to the wrong book. I did click every one.

I really like that you have to book covers displayed! It helps!

Is this only available in the US as it is not free in the UK?
I figured out how to change the URL!
PITA isn't it.
I love events like this until I have to change .com to .co.uk dozens of times.

Hey Faenon, I'll be posting about the next one I do this spring. I host twice a year.
Will the post come under the 'From Pages to Portals' or 'Fantasy Free-For-All' section of your substack, or both?
Both!
Ok, I guess that forces me to sub to your newsletter, then... ;)

One Good Turn is still not free.
